Jeff Olan Casting, Inc. is a full service casting company specializing in extra casting. We take on SAG, AFTRA, and NON-UNION talent of all walks of life.

Registration Information:

WHEN

Monday through Friday, from 11:00am to 2:00pm ONLY*. We are closed on weekends and all major holidays. Check this web site for other days of closure throughout the year.

*By “ONLY” we mean no earlier than 11:00am and definitely not later than 2:00pm; no exceptions.

We are conveniently located in the heart of Sherman Oaks on Ventura Blvd., between Hazeltine & Woodman, across the street from Ralphs Grocery Store.

From 101 Freeway-- exit Woodman going South to Ventura Blvd. and turn right. We are approximately 3 blocks down on the left-hand side.
PARKING There is an ample mixture of both free street parking, as well as metered parking on the street. There is absolutely NO PARKING in the office-building parking lot.

SAG: Bring your current, updated SAG card, and 2 forms of ID*
AFTRA: Bring your AFTRA card, and 2 forms of ID*
NON-UNION: Bring 2 forms of ID*

*IDs can include a Driver’s License, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, or Passport.

HAVE RESUMES OR PHOTOS?

  • Bring in 3x5 or 4x7 color photos that provide an “up-to-date” look.
  • Also, if you have them, we suggest* that you bring a copy of:
    • Acting resumes
    • 8x10’s photos
    • A DVD or VHS tape of yourself.

    • *This will only help when it comes to our casting directors placing you on sets.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN PHOTOS:

We would prefer a shot of you in a suit, but any shot that is up-to-date and you are looking nice will get you more work.

DON’T HAVE RESUMES OR PHOTOS?

Don’t worry. Jeff Olan Casting will take a picture of you on the spot.
FEES For ALL NEW TALENT, there is a ONE-TIME COMPUTER IMAGING FEE of $25 (twenty-five dollars) accepted in CASH or CHECK.

Do Not Send In Photos from out of state wanting to get into our files. We suggest that if you are planning on moving to the Los Angeles area or you know you will be visiting for a while, those are the times to come into register.

F.A.Q.

Do I need any experience to be cast as an extra?

NO experience is required to be placed as an extra.

Do you take credit cards or other forms of payment besides cash or check for the one-time computer imaging fee?

NO.

Do you take any fees from extras you place on movie or television sets?

NO. Jeff Olan Casting, Inc., is NOT AN AGENT, and Jeff Olan Casting, Inc,. is NOT your employer. Jeff Olan Casting, Inc., is strictly a service to the producers. You are responsible for your agent’s fee (if you have one), as you are an independent contractor to Jeff Olan Casting, Inc.

Do I have to be in the LA area to work as an extra with you?

We suggest that all talent who work through us should be in the Los Angeles area when calling in for work. We will not ask anyone further than 100 miles to work on any of our sets.

Do you cast minors?

NO. You must be 18 to register. But we can recommend agencies in the Los Angeles area that do cast children.
