IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING JOC REGISTRATION
Effective January 2012, Jeff Olan Casting will be no longer be doing registration of new talent until further notice.
We will continue to be open for updates for those already registered with JOC ONLY.

Jeff Olan Casting, Inc. is a full service casting company specializing in extras casting. We take on SAG, AFTRA, and non-union talent from all walks of life. We have projects in production including the hot television series Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice as well as feature films and commercials. With the exception of holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year's Day, we hold year round registration. We do NOT accept mailed submissions and will not ask anyone who lives farther than 100 miles to work on any of our sets.

MANDATORY: Everyone must come with two forms of ID in order to register with Jeff Olan Casting. Production requires I-9s for all people who work on set and two forms of ID are needed to fill out an I-9 form. There cannot be any exceptions to this rule. Click on this LINK for I-9 INSTRUCTIONS for what constitutes legal identification. (NOTE: Do not Pre-fill out the I-9 before getting to the office; we will have I-9s available for you to fill out.)
All documents must be unexpired. If you do not have proper I-9 identification, you will be turned away from registration.

WHERE TO GO:
We are conveniently located at 14044 Ventura Blvd, Suite 209, in Sherman Oaks, CA 91423. We are on Ventura Blvd. between Hazeltine and Woodman Ave across the street from Ralph's Supermarket. There is an ample mixture of free street parking and metered parking, but please read the street signs carefully to avoid ticketing. Please do not park in the office building parking lot, as you will be towed at your own expense.

From the 101:
Exit Woodman Ave offramp
Turn left on Woodman Ave
Turn right on Ventura Blvd

WHAT TO BRING:

If you're SAG and/or AFTRA, bring your current, updated SAG card or receipt and two forms of ID, including one picture ID. (See the link above for proper I-9 identification)
If you’re AFTRA, bring your AFTRA membership card, two forms of ID, including one picture ID. (See the link above for proper I-9 identification)
If you're non-union (not SAG nor AFTRA), bring two forms of ID, including one picture ID. (See the link above for proper I-9 identification)

EXAMPLES of Acceptable forms of ID are:

Passport (A valid US passport is acceptable as two forms of ID)

Birth Certificate

Social Security Card / INS Employment Authorization Card

Driver's License

Alien Registration Card/ Permanent Resident Card

Also please bring a hardcopy photo such as a headshot or a 4x6 photo of yourself. ANY printed picture or hardcopy photo that is a current representation of you will work (it does not have to be a professional headshot for our purposes). In addition, at the Jeff Olan Casting office, we will take a digital photo that will be put into our computer database. This photo will be the one that is used for submissions for work, so please come in looking your best. For men we suggest a suit or shirt and tie. For women we suggest corporate casual attire. For young adults we suggest a casual outfit without logos, patterns or anything too bright. We want to make your submission photo the best we can because you never get a second chance to make a first impression!

Please note that we do not accept e-mailed or digital photos for our internal database for either registration or updates.

OTHER INFORMATION:

Jeff Olan Casting, Inc also has numerous independent casting directors in and out of town, who work with and through us.

You must be 18 or older to register with Jeff Olan Casting, Inc. but we can recommend agencies in the Los Angeles area that do cast children.

Jeff Olan Casting, Inc is not an agent, and Jeff Olan Casting is not your employer. Jeff Olan Casting, Inc is strictly a service to the producers. You are responsible for your agent's fee (if you have one), as it is understood that you are an independent contractor to Jeff Olan Casting, Inc. when you are placed on one of our sets.

Since Jeff Olan Casting is not your employer, all employment insurance claims from the EDD will be returned stating that JOC is not your employer. For employment purposes, your employer is the payroll company named on your voucher since they handle payment and accounting. Naming JOC the employer will only delay your ability to acquire any benefits from the EDD.

No experience is required to be placed as an extra.
